You're here!

I'm so glad you could make it! Let's recap a few things:
  • July 14, 1987 - Birthdate
  • About 18 months ago - I turn 30 in about 18 months. I think I'll do something big.
  • Time passes. Planned month-long-many-time-revised road trip, got vacation time approved, saved money, etc
  • 3 days ago - I got laid off from my job.

Of course I thought about slamming down on the vacation abort button; don't worry, I made the smart decision. I'm planning to leave for Washington DC tomorrow, my first stop on what is going to be my biggest adventure yet: a 30-day road trip across the United States. Custom-made, with a barbershop convention in Las Vegas.

Now, there's probably a lot of questions that need answering, but what's a good road trip blog without some suspense? I'll fill you in along the way and provide as many pictures and videos and other cool stuff as I can.

*high school and college friends: Sheila is dead, she got to 212k miles. New car = safe.

I'll be posting stuff here to log my trip, share some photos, and let Mom know that I'm eating vegetables when I can. I hope you follow along on my journey!

While parts of my trip are extremely flexible, I will be around the following locations around the following times:

Denver: July 2-3
Las Vegas: July 4-10 (convention)
San Francisco: July 17
Seattle: July 19
Then taking 10 days to get back to Massachusetts, hitting as many National Parks as possible

If you're in the area I'm in, let me know and I'll try to come say hi. If there's something I shouldn't miss, let me know and I'll do my best not to. If you know anyone hiring in August, I'm interested in hearing about it.

  1. Drive safely, wear your seatbelt, I love you, and save the half-eaten bag of roasted chickpeas I left on the passenger side door for when I get there in two weeks. Or for an emergency.

    1. Ah, responding is apparently super easy! I love you, seat belt check, no guarantees on the chick peas, even in a non-emergency.
